Wendy’s Golf Classic Supports Adoption Programs
The Wendy’s Golf Classic takes place at the Jackson Country Club on August 7 & 8, 2011 and it is a fundraiser for local adoption programs. On August 7 is the LPGA Legends Pro Tour and on August 8 is the PRO-AM where professional and amateur golfers compete. You can purchase tickets at http://www.thelegendstour.com/tickets/
FSCA receives a generous donation to our adoption program from the proceeds and the agency’s Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (WWK) recruiter is supported by a grant through the Dave Thomas Foundation which is a major beneficiary of the Classic. FSCA is privileged to have a WWK recruiter at our agency, Jessie Mae Secord.
Jessie Mae recruits adoptive families for the hardest to place children in Michigan’s foster care system. Jessie Mae states that a lot of her work is investigative in nature “I search for any biological relatives, family friends, or other meaningful people that may have been in the child’s life”. If she is unable to find a home with people known to the child, Jessie Mae looks for an adoptive family that can meet that child’s specific needs. Jessie Mae calls this “child focused recruitment” and she is very good at this. What makes Jessie Mae good at her job is her investigative skills, rapport with children, and exceptional marketing skills. You can view information about WWK and the children needing homes at her website www.wonderful-kids.org.
Jessie Mae received her a BSW from Eastern University and has been working as a WWK recruiter for four years. She lives with her partner, “wonderful” daughter, and many animals. In her free time, Jessie Mae enjoys camping and crafting.
