Behavioral Health Programs
Our counseling services help people in the community deal with emotional and relationship problems and improve their quality of life. Our experienced counselors specialize in child and adolescent counseling, play therapy, counseling of children in blended and adoptive families, sexual abuse counseling, family and marital counseling. Many of our therapists are certified in Trauma Focused CBT, and all have a good understanding of working with adults and youth who have experienced trauma.
Our Counselors Can Help With
- Mental health problems like depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance use disorder
- Navigate transitions in life such as adopting a child, coping with health concerns and aging, and grieving the loss of a loved one
- Adults with parenting concerns
- Children and adults cope with the after effects of abuse and neglect, grief and loss, and sexual abuse
Insurance & Payment
Most private insurance plans and Medicaid plans are accepted, and a sliding fee scale may apply for uninsured and underinsured Jackson residents, thanks to the United Way of Jackson.
No one will be turned away because of the inability to pay.

Family Service and Children’s Aid believes that individuals, adults, youth, and families should have the opportunity to access mental health and substance use services that are strength-based and provided in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment. The goal of our services is to improve overall quality of life through symptom relief, improved daily functioning, self-management, and emotional well-being of those receiving services.
Important: Narcan Availability
We strongly encourage the public to have NARCAN available in case they encounter a person who has taken an overdose of opioids.

Insurance Accepted
We accept most major insurances and offer a sliding scale fee for mental health services (limited funding available).
Substance Use Services
Substance use services are available regardless of ability to pay.
